un kilo de ayudaIt is the most important Mexican initiative against Child Malnutrition, concentrating its efforts on serving children under 5 years. It is an authorized grantee, audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

We have a comprehensive methodology that is supported and advised by the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán, and by the National Public Health Institute of Mexico. It consists of six actions: Nutritional Surveillance, Detection of Anemia, Nutrition Education, Nutrition Package Delivery, Evaluation of Neurodevelopmental and water safety, the actions are carried out fortnightly  visits to nutritionists in the communities of Oaxaca, Puebla, Chiapas, Guerrero, San Luis Potosi, State of Mexico and Veracruz.


One component of our work in ti campaign for “Special Collection 2010” This is a Challenge that strives to foster social participation in combating child malnutrition in Mexican regions with higher deprivation indexe.Is is a campaign that will help us to increase the resources we have today. We hope it will grow and strengthen our infrastructure, consequently increasing our capacity to careand help thousand of children suffering from malnutrition in this country.

A balanced nutrition throughout one childhood is likely to decrease chronic degenerative diseases in adulthood including diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
