Después de un año de arduo trabajo con la juventud centromericana de Costa Rica, Panamá, Guatemala y Nicaragua, concluimos nuestro PROGRAMA DE CAPACITACION DE JUVENTUD CENTROMERICANA EN LIDERAZGO Y HABILIDADES PARA LA VIDA.


Gracias al apoyo y esfuerzo de todas y todos los involucrados en este arduo proceso.

Conclusiones

De la experiencia desarrollada en la ejecución del proyecto, se lograron compilar una serie de conclusiones del trabajo con la juventud centroamericana, la integración centroamericana y la institucionalidad detrás de la misma.

  • Existe un gran potencial de la juventud centroamericana para fortalecer y participar de los procesos de Integración Regional.
  • La juventud centroamericana participante del proyecto, reúne las condiciones necesarias para ser un modelo a nivel regional en la promoción y defensa de los derechos de la juventud centroamericana.
  • Existe el interés real de instituciones y organizaciones para apoyar a la juventud indígena, rural y urbana marginal, la cual se vio reflejada en su aporte en la ejecución del proyecto.
  • Hay incongruencia entre el discurso político y las condiciones reales para la Integración Regional.
  • Se hace necesaria la construcción del concepto de Integración Regional desde la perspectiva de la juventud centroamericana y con su plena participación.
  • No hay clara representación ante el CC-SICA de la juventud centroamericana, existiendo exclusión de la población en el desarrollo de políticas nacionales.
  • A pesar de la gran voluntad de la juventud de integrarse como una Alianza Regional de liderazgo juvenil centroamericana a nivel regional, hay limitaciones institucionales, estructurales y económicas que la obstaculiza.
  • La garantía para la sostenibilidad verdadera y efectiva de las iniciativas de la sociedad civil en la Integración Regional, requiere de oportunidades y apoyo real, de las instituciones involucradas.
  • Ha habido algunas experiencias previas de conformación de redes o alianzas juveniles, que no han sobrevivido por no haberse garantizado su sostenibilidad.

June Projects 2013

Mexico 2016 - Orphanage Kids

El Niño Feliz children's home seeks to invest in a child’s development - socially, academically and personally. Reto Juvenil works in collaboration with our Australian partner  VOICE (Volunteers in Community Engagement) supporting projects and communities in Mexico to help them build a sustainable future. On June 2013 a group of volunteers from Australia were helping in Casa Hogar with repairs and maintenance activites plus a great  English Classes Program, free and open to the whole loclas and childrens.

RJI MAY 2013 PROJECTS

During the month of May 2013, Reto Juvenil had the opportunity to implement seven projects for the development of rural communities of Costa Rica, Guatemala and Nicaragua. With international partners  with the collaboration of a large number of volunteers, we were able to improve the educative infrastructure of our communities of the region.

 Our projects are the result of several months of planning, the coordination of several international organizations that work together, the efforts of the communities to improve their conditions and the invaluable contribution of our volunteers that donate their time and work to help the communities that need it the most.

 The interventions of RJI in the region during this month were the following:

NICARAGUA (SOS)

- Matagalpa Province, Escalares:   A classroom for the Primary local School Escuela Escalares

COSTA RICA

- Guanacaste Province, Cacique Nicoa: Primary School Library Escuela Cacique de Nicoa

GUATEMALA

- Quetzaltenango Province, Santa Lucia de Utatlan, Infrastruture Improvement of the Primary school Escuela Rural Mixta

- Dentist campaing

-English Classes

-Painting

-Signing

-Infrastructure Repairs

-Donation of food for Poor Families

-Creationt of  the new Indigenous Girls Association

Professional Development 2013

As part of RJI program for continuous professional training, the organization offers support to its staff to pursue constant training and self improvement. In this manner, we wish to share some of the latest professional trainings our staff have been implementing. We appreciate thier efforts and time dedicate for becoming better professionals every day.

The AFIM Foundation of Spain, sponsored by the King Juan Carlos University and the Social European Fund, awarded scholarships to 4 staff members to take 6 online courses. The scholarships were awarded to Marcela Murillo (Administrative and Finance Director), Sterling Miranda (Project Coordinator), Yazmin Ruiz (Regional Projects Director) and Fabio Mora (Executive Director)

 We deeply thank all the organizations and governments that contribute to the improvement of the skills and knowledge of our staff and that allow us to constantly improve our results.

2013 Donations from the Kellogg´s Foundation

Thanks to our Alliance with the Kellogg´s Foundation, Reto Juvenil Internacional received another donation of over 7,752 units of Kellogg´s cornflakes in Costa Rica. During the month of JAN 2013, RJI staff dedicated time and efforts to distribute them between schools and organizations in need. We are sure this contribution will be of great significance to these institutions and an incentive for them to continue their amazing work.
