YCA Volunteers Mexico ends project
Our great volunteer team working in Mexico just finished their 10 week journey. But the impact they left was tremendous, something the community will never forget.
This time, our volunteers worked on Casa Hogar, El Nino Feliz. An orphanage that hosts 36 kids from ages between 0-15 years old.
This time, our volunteers focused on a diversity of objectives with the orphanage and the community where it is located and all of them were achieved successfully:
Child/Teen development:
- Increasing social skills and leadership
- Cognitive development and educational support
- Teamwork skills
- Improving fitness levels
- English/computer lessons
- Encouraging creativity.
Education:
- Create awareness at the local schools about the orphanage
- Value of environmental sustainability and development.
- To educate the children regarding the value of hygiene and personal sanitation
- Community involvement
Infrastructure:
- Development of infrastructure and hygiene facilities
- Aqueduct
- Mural Signs
- Vegetable Garden
- House painting (including fences, front and inside)
